Mavin Staub
Ambrose lives and works as a
professional artist in Elmira, New
York. She grew up in Short Hills
New Jersey, attended Elmira College
with a painting major and psychology
minor, and graduated from Syracuse
University in 1970 with a Bachelor
in Fine Arts Degree.
Mavin has
exhibited her work in North
Carolina, Ohio, and New York City as
well as upstate New York in
Binghamton, Buffalo, Ithaca, Elmira,
and Corning. She was a member of
the Board of Trustees at the Arnot
Art Museum and has taught classes at
the Rockwell Museum of Art. Many of
the classes she has taught have
revolved around the subject of Art
and Identity, having worked with
teenagers and adults , emphasizing
the connection between creating art,
exploring intuition, and personal
therapy. Recently, Mavin has been
working with bereavement classes
at Care First/Hospice called Heart
and Soul; and feels that making art
at any level is an essential tool
for self- knowledge and personal
growth. |
